Doraemon is a robotic cat who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a schoolboy, Nobita Nobi.

Doraemon
Doraemon is a blue robotic cat from the 22nd century, who weighs 129.3kg (285 lbs) and measures at 129.3cm (4'3") tall. He is manufactured on September 3rd in the year 2112, bearing the code MS-903, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory. Doraemon is considered a substandard product because many of his robotic features (ie. radar whiskers and cat-calling bell) malfunctioned after production. During his manufacture, he got struck by lighting and lost an important screw that is part of his brain, thus affecting his performance in both his studies and towards society. His favourite food is dorayaki, a Japanese treat consisting of two pancake-like patties wrapped around a filling of sweet red bean paste.
According to a story arc in the spin-off manga series, "The Doraemons", Doraemon's original paint colour was yellow. He changed colour after getting his ears gnawed off by a robot mouse, which caused him to slip into depression on top of a tower, where he drank a potion labelled "sadness" and as he wept, the yellow color was washed off and his voice changed due to the potion. These events are what caused Doraemon to have such a huge fear of mice, despite the fact he's actually a robot cat and these events were also animated into a 2005 intro to the current anime series.
Doraemon also has a fourth-dimensional pocket on his body from which he can acquire various colourful and futuristic gadgets, tools and playthings from a future department store, mostly each one he acquires in each story are to help out Nobita Nobi with anything he has trouble with in the story. He also has the tendency to panic during emergencies, characterized by him frantically trying to pull out a very much-needed tool from his pocket, only to produce a huge assortment of unrelated household items, which are quite irritating at times.
Nobita Nobi
He is a ten year-old boy who lives at Nerima in Tokyo, Japan with his mother and father and is an only child. Nobita unfortunately inherited his dad's poor academic ability and his mother's poor athletic ability (along with her bad eyesight). His only three talents are sleeping (he can achieve this after counting from 1 to 3) and excellent aim while shooting with a gun, skills that are almost completely useless in modern Japanese society and playing cats cradle which in modern society is considered to be outdated. He usually wears glasses (only taking them off when he goes to bed), a red or yellow polo shirt with a white collar and blue shorts. Nobita has many, many personal flaws which are present in both the anime and manga very frequently: he can be lazy, uncoordinated, dim-witted, unlucky, clumsy, cowardly and unathletic. Though despite these flaws, Nobita does have unique talents such as his unrivalled marksmanship and ability to weave intricate string figures. Nobita's clumsiness is also possibly inherited from his mum (Although she changed to a well-organized person, she is clumsy in her child age) Nobita may also be frequently portrayed as being cowardly but in many of the feature-length films and stories, he has often risked his life to help save others or even entire civilizations. He also has a crush on friendly neighbourhood girl, Shizuka Minamoto.
Shizuka Minamoto
Shizuka-chan (静香ちゃん), is a smart, kind, and pretty neighbourhood girl who is the object of Nobita's affections. She takes baths several times a day. Somehow, Nobita always seem to unintentionally walk in on her (via the Dokodemo Door) while she is still in the bathtub. She is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly, which is sometimes used as an excuse for declining to hang out with Nobita. Her true passions are sweet potatoes and the violin, in which her playing is as atrocious as Giant's singing. Shizuka will become Nobita's wife in the future timeline.
Takeshi Goda (Gian)
He is recognized by his large build (might partly be contributed by obesity), as well as mean, selfish and violent manner. He "rules" the neighbourhood with force, often to the physical expense of other children, especially Nobita, who often resorts to asking Doraemon for gadgets to get even on him. In addition, he has a tendency to rob things from other children, usually Suneo, who offers himself to be Gian's sidekick in most occasions.
Gian is probably the most athletically talented among the kids, and he's also the captain of the local baseball team — The Giants. Because of the poor skills of some members like Suneo or, more significantly, Nobita, the team often found itself at the bottom of the league table. Defeats often lead to Gian's abuse of his teammates.
Another prominent hobby of Gian is singing, in which he thinks himself proficient, but actually very appalling, to the point that people often pass out upon hearing his singing. Nonetheless, he manages to "convince" the neighbourhood to be his concert audience, and even force them into praising his singing.
Apart from his father and mother (whom he fears the most), Gian also has a younger sister called Jaiko. He is extremely protective of Jaiko, sometimes to her annoyance.
Suneo Honekawa
Suneo's personality is described as a cunning, prideful, cocky, arrogant, and narcissist, as he always brag about a unusual (and expensive) stuff including toys, comics, etc, he often brag his dad's position as a president director of a company and holds a deep respect towards him (proved by he wants to be the successor of the company). His highest and most "easy-to-see" personality is narcissism, which often he likes to see the mirror and says how handsome he is (like the queen in Snow White). He is also cunning and has a way with words, that even Gian is always "happy" by his praise in singing and taking the adults' heart by praising them which makes him a liar and disliked by many of his friends. However, despite his arrogant personality, he has a deep side which is a caring, kind, sensitive, supportive, and regretful side. That personality shown when he is in a trouble or his friend's life is in danger he is the only one in group that cry when a big trouble is on, showing a sensitive and crybaby side.In some scenes,Suneo is seen as a narcissist who loves to stare at himself in the mirror while telling himself that he is the most handsome guy in the world.He is still a bed-wetter and needs to wear diapers when he sleeps, despite being in the fourth grade. He considers this humiliating habit his secret weakness.
Hidetoshi Dekisugi
Dorami
Dorami is Doraemon's little sister. Interestingly, they are siblings because they drank out of each other's oil cans. Even though they are siblings, she is more quick-witted and brighter than him as she is ran by the lower portion of the same can of oil that Doraemon ran, which has more nutrients than the upper portion. She is yellow with a cute face, a small nose, and a red bow behind her head. She is manufactured on December 2nd on the year 2114, 2 years after her brother was made. She appeared in various episodes, mainly being called from Doraemon for help, or to just show off a new tool. Her favourite food is Melon Pan and she hates cockroaches. In the next generation, Dorami will have a relationship with Dora the Kid.
